2011 Golf Outing raises over $25,000
What do you call a quartet of golfers who aren't particularly accurate with their tee shots? A 'foresome'. There were a lot more foursomes than 'foresomes' on Friday, June 3rd when LCCM conducted its 17th Annual Golf Outing at Lebanon Valley Golf Course in Myerstown. Thirty-eight foursomes to be exact. And by all accounts, a good time was had by all and $25,352.62 was raised for a great cause. That money will go towards proving food, clothing and other emergency services to families and individuals in need or crisis. "It was an awesome day," said LCCM executive director Troy Williams, who served as the event's organizer. "We had a lot of fun, a gorgeous day for playing golf, and we raised a lot of money." LCCM changed the outing’s this year to a modified format that included playing six holes each of better ball, alternate shot, and scramble. The different format was well received and was a refreshing change from the standard four person scramble. Mark your calendar for next year’s outing. Friday, June 1, 2012. Our deepest thanks to all who participated and planned this year’s event. Special thanks to our sponsors and volunteers without whom such an event would not be possible. LCCM would like to thank John Byler for his continued support as the Event Sponsor.
